Textum

Textum Roofing has been trusted by PowerWater to deliver a series of critical infrastructure upgrades across the Northern Territory. Working on live treatment plants, remote regional facilities and elevated water tanks serving entire communities, each project demanded the highest levels of programme discipline, safety management and coordination with PowerWater operations staff. From Darwin to Katherine and beyond, our team consistently delivered complex refurbishment works on time and to specification — ensuring minimal disruption to essential water services throughout. Below is a 3 of the projects completed with another 4 tanks also delivered over a number of years

Ludmilla Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade

Project Scope:

  • 1,350m² Roof Sheeting
  • 145m² Soffit Linings
  • 400m² Wall Cladding
  • 2,500LM Roof Purlins & Wall Girts

This refurbishment involved the full removal and replacement of existing roof sheeting, wall cladding and structural purlins. As a live, operational facility, works were carefully sequenced to ensure zero disruption to the plant’s day-to-day operations. Daily coordination with PowerWater staff was essential to maintaining both project momentum and continuous plant functionality throughout the programme.

Katherine 9ML Water Tank — Roof Replacement

Project Scope:

  • 5-Month Programme
  • 2 Months Procurement
  • 3 Months Installation

With the tank taken offline for the duration of works, on-time delivery was critical to the town’s water supply. The scope included full removal of existing roof sheeting and perimeter handrail, removal and transport of all structural steel to Darwin for blast cleaning and re-galvanising, before being returned to Katherine for reinstallation. New stepped aluminium roof purlins were fabricated to suit the tank’s triangular sections, with LT7 Permalite Aluminium Roof Sheeting, new aluminium perimeter handrails and internal stainless steel stairs all installed as part of the refurbishment. Managing long material lead times, a remote location and wet season conditions — including extreme heat and rainfall from February onward — required careful forward planning and programme discipline.

Salonika Elevated Water Tank — Roof Replacement

Project Scope:

  • 3-Month Programme

The tank was taken offline for the full duration of works, with water supply maintained through existing network tanks. Completing the programme on schedule was critical to restoring the areas water supply. Works included full removal of existing roof sheeting, perimeter handrail and all structural steel, followed by sand blasting of internal and external tank floors and walls, repainted to PowerWater Potable Water specifications. New aluminium purlins, Permalite LT7 Aluminium Roof Sheeting, new ventilation structures and a new perimeter handrail were installed to complete the refurbishment.
